Charlie and Lola

My boss, Ali, received a package yesterday from her mum in Kenya. It was a set of DVDs ordered from AmazonUK. The dvds are of this kid's tv show on BBC Kids called Charlie and Lola, staring a 7 year old boy and his 4 year old sister who is "small and very funny". Ali said I could borrow them so I did and I'm totally addicted to them. They're short animated episodes based on Charlie and Lola books, about 1o minutes each. It's a combination of paper cut outs, photographs, and other drawn elements. I would say they're similar content-wise to The Bearnstein Bears, cause each episode is about a different behaviour - tidying rooms, sharing, respecting borrowed items, saving something for later, making friends, etc. Some episodes talk about art and how a drawing of a house can be different depending on who made it - it uses buildings created by Vincent van Gogh and and Roy Lichtenstein as examples! It's a pretty neat show!

I went online to Amazon to see if it's available in NTSC format dvds (which it is) and saw that the reviews all were along the lines of: "oh my 3 year old loves this show. so educational", "my 2.5 year old is enchanted with Charlie and Lola" etc etc. I could write a review saying I'm 23 and love the show!

Here's a YouTube link to one of the episodes: I am really ever so not well
