Garba - backlit watercolor

13 x 9 inches
Winsor Newton watercolor on Arches 140 lb cold press paper

The second project in my Techniques II class, we had to create a backlit scene and paint it in watercolor. My piece shows a traditional/folk dance from India called Garba. The women are all wearing chaniya cholis (kind of like a saree but not). I had issues with my firelogs, oh well, pretend they're not there!

I apologize for the dark image, its 3am and my lighting is awful. Will scan and post a better one after I get it back from Professor Powers.

Very nice. I really like the warm lighting.
